Bali tectonic earthquake rocked southern, Saturday (8/4). The results of the analysis of Meteorology and Geophysics Agency, the quake occurred at 01:25, with a strength of 4.7 magnitude. The epicenter was located at 9.40 coordinates of latitude and 115.49 east, precisely in the Indian Ocean at a distance of 59 km southwest of Klungkung with a depth of 72 km.
Head of Information and Early Warning Earthquake BMKG, Daryono said the quake was felt in Kuta, Tuban, Nusa Dua, Denpasar, Gianyar, Klungkung, and Nusa Penida on a scale of intensity I SIG-BMKG (I-II MMI).
This is consistent with reports some residents who felt the earthquake. They are worried because since (3/22/2017) Bali's southern region has three times shaken by earthquakes.
Like an earthquake happened before, namely (22/03/2017) earthquake measuring 5.6 magnitude and (04/06/2017) earthquake measuring 4.4 magnitude. From the depths hiposenternya, it appears that this earthquake is also a kind of intermediate depth earthquakes triggered plate subduction activity.
In this case the Indo-Australian Plate subducting under the Eurasian plate at a rate of 70 mm / year, in the strip dip slab deforms / fault.
Bali's southern coastal communities are urged to remain calm, considering this earthquake no tsunami potential.
