Baturiti Tabanan and geothermal power plants in Bali

Baturiti is a district in Tabanan regency, Bali province, Indonesia. Small town in Baturiti is approximately 40 km north of the city of Tabanan. Very strategic position, because it is the only district in Tabanan, the tourism and agro tourism economy was growing. Baturi to the north, is the Buleleng district, south and east of the of Badung regency and Tabanan district in the west side.

Baturiti district consists of 12 villages, is, Angseri, Antapan, Apuan, Bangli, rocks, Baturiti, Candikuning, Luwus, Mekarsari, Perean, Perean Kangin, Perean Tengah. Consists of 64 banjar dinas, 53 desa pekraman, and 73 banjaradat.


In Baturiti, precisely in the woods Dasong, Candikuning village, will be built a geothermal power plant. The project has worked since 1997. However, to date, the project is not finished, and was impressed mangkrak. Local residents disputed this issue. They questioned the continuation of the project mangkrak. Residents worry, mangkraknya project will trigger the disaster. Therefore, there are a number of drilling holes that emit hot gas. Residents hope, if the project continues there is no certainty of immediate stakeholders. Conversely, if closed, the land is already cut and drilled dihijaukan back soon. At least 7000 people in the village Candikuning, Baturiti, Tabanan, interact directly with the project. Some times arise discourse will continue.
